Physician in anaesthesiology and critical care, trained in data science
Rennes University Hospital
About
A resident at Rennes University Hospital since 2021, I am involved in several research projects built on health data.
Career
Originally from Toulouse, I began my residency in anaesthesiology and critical care in Rennes in 2021. A keen video gamer and modder, I discovered the world of data alongside physician data scientists in my specialty. This led me in 2025 to take the Master's degree in Public Health Data Science (Applied Mathematics and Statistics), run jointly by EHESP and the University of Rennes.
Research
During my master's internship at LTSI (INSERM UMR 1099, University of Rennes), I led the LEVEL project, a single-centre retrospective study comparing the safety of a new antiepileptic drug in intensive care. The project involved two challenges:
- measuring the duration of invasive mechanical ventilation, a complex variable, from a very large volume of data: the Rennes University Hospital clinical data warehouse holds all the data generated by intensive care patients;
- addressing a statistical challenge with a clone-censor-weighting approach.
I also take part in building an infrastructure for assembling retrospective hospital cohorts in natural language, using LLMs (large language models) hosted on sovereign infrastructure. This project also lets me develop methods to make these models' answers more reliable.
